Third, your vehicle’s undercarriage should be freshly washed and rinsed before you bring it in for its Rustoration. We recommend a good undercarriage wash at the car wash before arriving for your Rustoration. Step 1: Rust removal The first step in the Rustoration process is to remove large rust and scale particles with a brush, needle gun or sandblaster, for up to two hours. This is done to get down to the solid, stable surface – not to remove all the rust. For this project, you actually want some rust to stay on there. You’ll see why in the next step. Step 2: Rust conversion

The second step is to apply a substance that chemically changes the rust. It stops the rusting process and actually turns the rust into a black primer that protects the metal underneath it.  Only the rust is converted into the primer, and the bare metal isn’t affected. Step 3: Maintenance After that, your vehicle’s undercarriage can (and should) be treated as a new one, with regular preventive maintenance. The third step is maintaining and protecting your vehicle by scheduling an NH Oil Undercoating undercoating treatment each year.
